Further Tenders Accepted
In a statement issued last evening, Mr. J. A. Lee, Parliamentary Undersecretary in Charge of Housing, said that tenders for the erection of a further group of six houses at Marton had been accepted and a contract had been awarded to Mr. J. 11. Jensen, Marton. Thjs was the second instalment of the Government’s housing scheme nt. Marton, and actual constructional work on it. would start in (lie near future. Tenders for 14 houses at Tauimirunui had also been accepted, the successful tenderers being Messrs. F. L. and B. E. O’Reilly. It had been decided to call for tenders for the erection of 18 singlehouse units at Napier and eight single houses and one two-house unit at Oamaru.
