The staff of “The Times” gave a dinner to hlr. W. Lints Smith after his retirement from the managership of the paper and presented him with a replica of a painting by tr New Zealander, Mr. Oswald Birley, of the principal proprietor, Major Astor, the editor, Mr. Geoffrey Dawson, and himself seated in conference.
