Mr. G. L. Stewart Elected Chairman

COMMITTEES APPOINTED

Mr. G. L. Stewart, senior member of the board of governors of the Wellington Technical College, was elected chairman in succession to Mr. T. Forsyth at last night’s meeting. Members praised Mr. Stewart’s work on behalf of- the board and in the interests of education generally. A welcome was extended to Mr. C. H. W. Nicholls, who replaces Mr. Forsyth on the board.

The following committees were appointed :—

Finance: The whole board. Standing: The chairman and Messrs. K. Baxter, J. J. Clark, W. E. Howe, E. E. Brooking, and W. Appleton. Special building: The Hon. T. Brindle, M.L.C., Messrs. J. M. Dawson, W. Mill, and C. H. W. Nicholls. The following trustees were appointed for the Howell Recreation Fund: Lady Norwood, Miss D. R. Robertson, the chairman, Messrs. R. G. Ridling and H. Paul.

Mr. Paul was appointed to the advisory committee of the students’ social and welfare committee. The following advisory committees were appointed :—Art: Lady Norwood and Mr. J. M. Dawson. Building: The Hon. T. Brindle and Messrs. J. M. Dawson and W. Mill. Coachworkers: Mr. H. Thompson. Commercial: Mr. W. Appleton. Ladies: Mrs. M. McVicar and Lady Norwood. Mechanical engineering: Mr. E. E. Brooking. Motor engineering: Mr. J. Read. Painters and decorators: Mr. W. Mill. Plumbing: Mr; H. Thompson.
