Takanori Yoshioka ran 100 metres in 10 l-ssec. This is a world record, but it may not be recognised as the runner was helped by a following wind.
The world record for 100 metres is held jointly by P. Williams, Canada, and E. Tolan and J. Owens, U.S.A., who have all recorded 10 3-10 sec.
