Annual Meeting Held The fourteenth annual meeting of the Wellington North Tennis Club was held last night, when the president, Mr. C. McKeehnic, was in the chair. The annual report commented on the satisfactory state of the club's finances. A motion that the words “at least two members of the committee be ex-pupils of the Thorndon School” be deleted from tlie club's constitution was carried. The club had found it increasingly difficult to find two ex-pupils to take their places on the committee, said Mr. J. K. AVellwood, retiring secretary. It was decided to impose a levy of 4/a player to assist in the provision of afternoon tea during the season. The sum is to be payable with the annual subscription. Because of the little time available throughout the season for handicap and one-clay tournaments, it was decided that flic committee should adopt the suggestion that chib championships and interclub games be curtailed. It was decided that only one team be entered in the league competitions and that club championships* be played to nine games in the singles up to the finals. Tlie chili expressed its thanks to Mr. Melody, headmaster of Thorndon School, and tlie school commissioners for tlie facilities placed nt the chib's disposal. Votes of thanks were passed by the meeting to Messrs. J. K. iVellwood. secretary. and IT. Herland, chib captain, for their services during the past, season. The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Mr. C. H. Chapman, M.P.: president, Mr. C. McKcchnie; vice-presi-dents, Mrs. I. M. AVnrner, Messrs. F. Picot. E. Picot and F. Elvinas; secretary, Mr. D. Gorman; treasurer, Mr. B. Harrington club captain. Air. A. Paul; viceclub captain, Mr. F. Mortenson: committee. Mrs. H. Harrington. Mrs. A. Calder. Mr. C. Herlund and Mr. L. Pickering.
