FARM-HAND MISSING
Believed Drowned in River
Dominion Special Service Wairoa, September 9. While returning home from work on horseback yesterday afternoon, Owen McLennan. a' station hand employed at Te Puna Station, Mangapoik.fi, is believed to have been drowned. A companion some distance away who noticed McLennan’s horse disappear over the river bank could find no trace of him on making an investigation. . The manager of the station, Mr. P. H. M. Williams, organised a search party, which found the horse lower down the river, but saw r.Q sign of McLennan. A search is now being conducted by the police.
