FREAK WITNESSES

Slander Action by Show Manageress Vienna, August 4. Charged with slandering the manageress of the show where she is appearing, the seven-footer Fraulein Gisela, claimed to be the world’s tallest woman, was forced to bow her head to enter the court. She had called the world’s fattest sisters in her defence, but the larger was unable to climb the stairs to the court room. The lesser, weighing' half a ton, managed to climb up, helped by several strong men. She squeezed through the door and collapsed panting on the bench. Four midgets were also witnesses, but all efforts were in vain when it was found that the giantess was abld to speak only Hungarian, and as no interpreter was present an adjournment was necessary.
