Ministerial. The Hon. H. G. R. Mason, AttorneyGeneral, left Wellington for Auckland by the Limited express last night. Sir Herbert L. Dowbiggin, C.M.G., who arrived at Wellington by the Wanganella on Wednesday, was a passenger for the South Island last night by the steamer express. Sir Charles Marr and Mr. H. Landon Smith, Sydney, Australian directors of New Zealand Forest Products, Limited, have returned to Auckland after inspecting plantations in the Rotorua district. They will leave for Sydney by the Monterey to-day. Mr. C. W. Worth, of W. and R. Fletcher, left for Auckland yesterday. The Hon. W. H. Mclntyre, M.L.C., is visiting Wellington. Mr. Charles Louisson, Palmerston North, left Wellington in the Wanganella lor Sydney last night. Professor Shelley, Director of Broadcasting, was a passenger for Auckland by the 3 o'clock train yesterday. Mr. A. Newman Press has been appointed a director of Thompson Bros.. Ltd., Wellington. Dr. N. C. Speight, Dunedin, arrived at Wellington yesterday from the South Island. Mr. S. Austin Carr, Auckland, arrived at Wellington by the Limited express yesterday. Mr. H. E. Herring, MJ’, for Mid-Can-terbury, returned south last, night after a brief visit to Wellington. Mr. E. G, Martin, managing director of the Atlantic Union Oil Co., Ltd., will leave Auckland by the Monterey to-day on a business trip to Australia. Mr. 11. S. S. Kyle, M.P. for Rlccarton, arrived at Wellington from the south yesterday by the steamer express. Mr. Edgar F. Stead, Christchurch, arrived by the steamer express from the south yesterday. Mr. J. Gentles, of the Fletcher Construction Co., was a passenger for Auckland by the Limited express last night. Mr. G. R. Ritchie, Dunedin, a director of the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand, Limited, arrived at Wellington from the south yesterday, and left by the 3 o’clock train for Auckland. Mr. D. W. Duff, New Zealand manager of the Mutual Life and Citizens’ Assurance Co., Ltd., accompanied by Mrs. Duff, returned to Wellington by the Wanganella from a visit to Australia and Japan. Mr. G. McNamara, Director-General of the Post and Telegraph Department, who recently attended an Empire conference in Loudon which discussed cable rates throughout the British Commonwealth, will return to New Zealand by the Mataroa, arriving at Auckland on August 13.
