A pocket has been patented that will defy anything from prying fingers to razors and acid. Invented by Mr. A. Hillier, of Preston, it is woven in a fine wire mesh of special alloy. The mouth is closed by an improved form of flat zip fastener,' which is operated from a different pocket by means of an ingenious arrangement of strings and pulleys.
Portsmouth is spending £222,500 on making a pleasure ground on the site of an old city fortification.
