FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.
Unsettled and changeable; heavy rainfalls possible in North Island Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 3 p.m. to-day A complex and deepening depression extends in a north to south direction across the Dominion. Several secondaries appear to be following the main, depression over the south Tasman Sea, while an anti-cyclone covers the greater part of Australia. Moderate to strong winds generally, northerly north of Grey mouth and Kaikoura, and westerly to south-westerly thence southward; but a temporary change to southerlies probable in most parts -within the next —4 hours. Seas moderate south of East Cape; elsewhere in New Zealand waters rather rough to rough. Moderate to strong southerly winds in the eastern Tasman Sea, veering at times to westerlies in the southern portion; seas rather rough to rough. Weather unsettled and changeable, with rain at times in most districts and possibly some heavy falls in the North Island. Temperatures mild, but becoming cooler to-day.
