PACIFIC CRUISE ENDS

H.M.S. Wellington to Reach Auckland To-day Dominion Special Service. Auckland, July 30. Returning from her annual cruise among the islands of the Pacific, the Imperial sloop Wellington will reach Auckland to-morrow afternoon. According to the original arrangements announced when the vessel left port on May 14, H.M.S. Wellington was not expected to return until xkugust 3, but on the run down from Tonga the ship has advanced ahead of schedule. Commanded by Commander Loriston Clarke, H.M.S. Wellington, in addition to her usual patrol duties in the I’acifie, took a party of scientists to Canton Island, in the Phoenix Group, to observe the solar eclipse and, leaving there on June 11, she proceeded to Apia, Fakaofa, Atafu, Nukunono, Pago Pago, Suvarov, Moorea, Papeete, Aitutaki and Rarotonga.
