The licensee of the Shamrock Hotel, Wellington, John Douglas McKechnie. was convicted by Mr. J. 11. Luxford, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday for exposing liquor for sale at a time when the premises were required to be closed. He was fined £5 and costs. A charge against William Leer of being on the premises was dismissed, but Frederick Russell, of Grant Road, was fined £1 for that offence and £2 for giving a false name.
