LORRY’S WILD CAREER
Crash Through Fence and Into House Dominion Special Service. Napier, July 30. Crashing into a veranda and striking the wall of a bedroom of jt. bouse in Ooote Road, Napier, during the early’ hours of this morning, a lorry owned by Mr. James Kenny, bottle merchant, Napier, capsized, extensively damaging the bodywork. The house was occupied by Mrs. S. H. Burgess. The lorry wks proceeding up Shakespeare Road when it apparently swerved into the fence of Mrs. Burgess’s house, tearing away the gates. The lorry mounted the veranda, which is a short distance from the road, tore away th ( . glassed-in portion of the veranda, and crashed heavily against the house, breaking two panes of glass in a bedroom window before overturning. The injuries received by the driver were not sufficiently serious to warrant admission to hospital.
