Hope Gibbons Shield The second of the three contests conducted by the Wellington Cycling Centre for the Hope Gibbous Shield will take place to-morrow, the course on this occasion being from the Petone rowing sheds to Quinn’s Post and back. An interesting race is expected. The first race was wou by a margin of Imin. lOsec. by the Poneke A team. A junior event has also been arranged, and will start at 2.15 p.m. Handicaps will be declared at the starting point. The distance of this race will be 15 miles. The following are the teams for the Hope Gibbons Shield race: — Poneke.—A team : R. Dutton (captain), R. Loader, R. Ulmer, W. Sinclair, K. McLeod. B team: A. Huxford, V. Evans, C. Clark, N. Scrimgeour, N. McLeod.
Port Nicholson.—A team : O. Disley, G. Arney, W. Keighley, R. Stevens, Les Sowerby. B team :J. Wilson, G. Knowles, L. Cartmer, W. Smithers, P. Johnston. Petone.—A team: C. Biggs (captain), J. Morris, 11. Biggs, C, McGurk, T. Roe. B team: A. Cook, R. Morris, D. Biggs, R. Braddock, E. Tapp. There is to be no delay at the starting point, and the first team to start will require to be ready iiumediately the juniors have been dispatched.
