Yesterday’s Business RETURN ON INVESTMENT’S Sales reported on Dominion Stock Exchanges yesterday are shown in the following list. In the second column is given the return based on the last annual dividend from investment at the quoted price. In calculating the return on shares in companies which pay their dividends outside New Zealand the exchange rates have not been taken into consideration, llie return on 4 per cent. Government loans includes redemption. In the ease of per cent, loans the return is lor the Interest alone, and covers only, the period for which the loans are tax-free: —

BANK OF NEW SOUTH WALES Quarterly Dividend Declared The manager of the Bank of New South Wales announces that an interim quarterly dividend has been declared of 6/- per share in Australian currency at date of payment, and will he payable at head office on August 26, and at branches on receipt of advice. Transfer books close on August 9. The dividend, which is for the quarter ended June 30, 1937, is at the unchanged rate of 6 per cent, per annum. Sulphide Gold Production Sulphide Gold (Junction Beet’s), Ltd., Sydney, reported to the Stock Exchange Association that during the perisvl June 11 to July 6. 1571 tons was treated for a recovery of 387.98 fine ounces of gold.
