A taste of old times hung about a statement at the New South. Wales Rugby Union annual meeting that employers are discouraging their employees playing rugby because of the liability to injury, (remarks a Sydney writer). Years ago in Quenesland the same spirit was abroad, the banks being the chief offenders. Some of these absolutely forbade their employees to play on pain of dismissal, with the result that “A. N. Other” and similar celebrities figured in practically every team in the union.
