Germany Under Hitler’s Dictatorship MAY DAY REFLECTIONS By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. (Received May 3, 7.30 p.m.) London, May 3. The Berlin correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph” reports that the May Day speech of the Leader-Chan-cellor, Herr Hitler, was beard by a most unenlhusiastic crowd. The Fuehrer's speech dealt with the results of his four years' dictatorship. Their deprivation of political freedom could be plainly read in the people’s apathetic faces. Meanwhile the anti-Christian prejudices inculcated in German youth are causing an outbreak of sacrilege throughout the Roman Catholic portion of Germany. PAINFUL IMPRESSION Vatican City Reactions (Received May 3, 10.30 p.m.) London, May 3. The correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” at the Vatican City says that Herr Hitler's attack on the churches has made a painful impression, as officials had been led to believe that he desired a friendly settlement of the dispute with the Vatican.
