UPPER HUTT DISTRICT NURSE’S WORK
Year’s Accomplishment The annual figures of the work of the district nurse at Upper Hutt, Miss L. K. Hodder, which have just been completed, show the extent of the service being given to the borough and county by the Wellington Hospital Board. In the annual period 174 patients visited the rooms and 371 were visited in their homes. There were 474 attendances at the rooms at Upper Hutt and 2014 attendances by Nurse Hodder in patients’ homes. The total of patients was 545, :uid of attendances 2852. There were 840 dental treatments —-this is the first year of this service at Upper Hutt, and it is being increasingly used—and there were 117 patients sent to Dr. McLean, chest complaints specialist to the board. END-OF-SEASON DANCE St. James’s Tennis Club After a successful year the 1936-37 season of St, James’s Tennis Club, Lower Hutt, was drought to a close on Saturday Ist with a dance and presentation of trophies won during the season. The club took the opportunity of extending a welcome to the Rev. H. V. C Reynolds, at p: •■sent on furlough from New Hebrides Kinds, and also to Mr. and Mrs. R. G. House, Otaki. Interludes between dances were supplied in the form of interesting competitions, and recitations by Miss Lois Mair and Mr. R. G. House. The tennis trophies presented by Mrs. Fry were won by the following Women’s championship, Miss B. Innes. Men’s championship, Mr. Jfl. Pyne. Women's handicap, Mrs. Wilson. Men’s handicap, Mr. J. Nash.
