THE MARCUS SHOW

At Palmerston North To-night

The Marcua Show, something unique in theatrical attractions in New Zealand, will open its Wellington season at the New Opera House on Saturday. The company, with a personnel of nearly 100, will present three lavish revue productions, "La Vie Pares,” “Broadway Vanities” and “Revue Continental.” In each of these revues there are more than 30 scenes. The cast includes 22 principals, a chorus of 25, and a ballet of 30. ■ In “La Vie Parse” one of the most strik- . ing ensembles is one entitled “Maid of 1

Silver,” in which beautiful girls, symbolising the precious metals of the earth, appear in thousands of yards of silverencrusted draperies. Another spectacular scene from the same revue is “Under the Andalusian Moon,” into which is infused much of the fire and energy of the Spanish character. This scene introduces the distinguished singer Senorita Sofia Alvarez, and also the Bernays, who perforin the dazzling “Danzer de Passion.” Still another impressive scene from “La Vie Paree” is '‘Birdland,” in which eight members of the company perform hazardous feats on trapezes high above tlie stage. Before visiting Wellington the Marcus Show will play at the Palmerston North Opera House to-night and to-morrow night, and the Municipal Theatre, Hastings, on Thursday and Friday.
