COUP BY FASCISTS NOT LIKELY
Iron Guard in Rumania London, April 18. The Bucharest correspondent of the “News Chronicle” discounts suggestions of an Iron Guard coup in Rumania and declares that the city is as tranquil as
London. King Carol has the support of a well-paid and a well - disciplined army whieh is free from political influence. King Carol discussed the situation with the correspondent, declaring. “I am not really anxious.” The correspondent adds that King Carol undoubtedly holds Rumania’s destiny in his hands. All classes agree that he has averted political chaos and steadied the national purse, and that any alteration in the regime is unthinkable. The banished brother of the King, Prince Nicholas, has sent a letter to the President of the Council of Ministers, M. George Tatarescu, disclaiming connection with or support of the Iron Guard.
