A decision whicli amazed the majority of spectators was given in a professional welterweight boxing contest between two Australians, Billy Martin ami Bill Pluto. The first round was fairly even, but from then on until the final round, in which Pluto showed to. his best advantage, the succeeding rounds were in favour of Martin. When the official announcer pointed toward Pluto’s corner there was a spontaneous outburst of disapproval. In a professional preliminary between boxers from the Australian warships, Power (H.M.A.S.
