Nelson Jockey Club Second Day TOP RANK ALSO WINS TWICE Dominion Special Service. Nelson, April 19. The Nelson Jockey Club’s meeting concluded to-day in perfect weather and track conditions. There was a good attendance. Totalisator Investments for the day were £5587, and for the meeting, £11,611, compared with £10,163 last year, an increase of £1449. Olitinga Tunis Tables. Ohanga and Southern Blood, had the Trial Stakes to themselves and were fairly evenly backed. Ohanga was one of the leaders all the way, but Southern Blood challenged in the run home. Ohanga, however, stayed better than on the first day, and won by a length from Southern Blood, who hung iu a little under pressure. Bit o’ Blue was a poor third, and Arrowin fourth. Top Bank Scores. Top Rank scored fairly well from The Sandwich Man in the Motueka Hack Handicap, and Derive was a fair third, with Prince Mulla fourth. Top Rank was a shade too good. Prince Mulla ran badly. Pladie beats Davislock. Pladie and Davistock, who were evenly backed, overshadowed the field in the Redwood Memorial Handicap. Pladie was prominent all the way behind Free Rose, and took charge at tiie straight entrance. Davistock challenged from a juindy position, but could not reach Pladie, who, ridden out, had a couple of lengths to spare when he crossed the line. Free Rose, after being an early leader, faded to a poor third. Dark Rose was fourth, and Laggard last. A Fine Finish. In a fine finish Lady Siegfried, who improved on her first day’s running, just won the Tahuna Hack Handicap from Chaste. Grampian set the pace and at the entranee to the straight Gasmark and Revival challenged, with Lady Siegfried coming through on the inner and Chaste on the outer. The four went ,ovcr the line in a bunch, Lady Siegfried winning by a head from Chaste, who just beat Revival, with Grampian close up fourth.

Top Rank Again. Rehandicapped for winning earlier in the day, and carrying 8.9, Top Rank scored his third win of the meeting in the Flying Handicap. Arena and Marcus Ci.ce.ro led to the straight, witli Top Rank at the buck. Top Rank made his ruu in the straight and got up to beat Marcus Cicero, with Roy Bun a close third. Impersonator was fourth, and Arena last. Marcus Cicero improved on his first day’s running, but Arena ran much below her form on Saturday. Top Rank steadily improved as the meeting advanced. The Sandivie.lt Man Narrowly.

Delium led the Stoke Handicap field into the straight, where The Sandwich Man challenged on the outer. .Southern Blood came through on the rails, and, under the whip all the way, cut out Delium, but could not reach The Sandwich Man, who scored narrowly but nicely. Delium was a close third, Arrowin fourth, and Haggis last. Pladie by a Neck. Scratchings in the Glen Memorial Handicap left Pladie and Chaste iu the positions of favourites, and they ran first and second. Pladie, who secured a break turning for home, won by a lieck.
