First Prize to Tirau Ticket-holder SECOND TO WAITOTARA “This For You” Winners <■ First prize of £2OOO in the “This For You” .Art Union, which was drawn at the Masonic Hall, Wellington, last evening, was won by V. J. Williams, of Tirau, a small country village in the South Auckland district between Matamata and Putaruru. The Police Department was represented at the draw by Sergeant P. Munro, and the Internal Affairs Department by Colonel J. Hutchens. The prize-winning numbers for the other major prizes were also held by ticket-holders in country districts. Few Wellington names appear in the list of winners of £lO prizes. The number winning the first prize was the thirty-first to be drawn out of the containers from which the draw is made. Williams, who for the past three years has been employed at Tirau, goes the fortune of holding the ticket which won the first prize in the art union draw to-night. Mr. Williams, who is 57 years of age, stated that the ticket wa.s held in equal shaj-es by himself and a young employee of his, Marry Palmer. “I have no idea what I am going to do with the money,” he added.
