American Bombing Plane To Startle World NEARING COMPLETION By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. (Received April IS, 6.30 p.m.) Washington, April 17. Tlie United States Army Air Corps announces that a 20-ton bomber, described as the largest and most powerful military plane constructed in the world, is nearing completion at the Boeing factory at Seattle. A test flight will be made within a fortnight. The plane has been under construction for three years and details are a military secret. Officers stated that it would startle the world in altitude and ability. It will be known as the “flying fortress,” and will have complete living quarters on board.
