Ministerial. The Hon. W. Lee Martin, Minister of Agriculture, will leave Wellington this evening for Nelson. To-morrow at noon lie will be tendered a civic reception by the Mayor of Nelson and’ representative citizens, and at Motueka the following day he similarly will be the guest of the local government. During his tour, Mr. Martin will visit the Cawthron Institute, and also the fruitgrading depots and several orchards and horticultural areas. He will return to 'Wellington on Friday morning. I The Hon. H. G. R. Mason, AttorneyGeneral and Minister of Justice, who visited Auckland during the week-end, will return to Wellington to-morrow. ’The Hon. F. Jones, Postmaster-Gen-eral, is to return to Wellington to-day by air from Dunedin. Mr. H. H. Sterling arrived at Wellington on Saturday from Auckland. Mr. B. J. Todd returned to Wellington from Dunedin on Saturday. Mr. R. J. Murphy returned to Wellington from Auckland on Saturday. The Rt. Rev. W. A. R. Fitchett, Bishop of Dunedin, is visiting Auckland. Last night he was the preacher at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Mr. W. J. Lyon, JI.P. for XVaitemata, arrived at Wellington from the north on Saturday. Mr. F. N. Ambler, president of the Auckland Manufacturers’ Association, left Auckland by the Monterey for Australia, where he will spend two or three weeks. Sub-Inspector C. E. Roach, who has been relieving Inspector Fitzpatrick in Napier, has taken up relieving duty at Gisborne during the absence of Inspector G. B. Edwards on annual leave. The Very Rev. Father D. Hurley, S.M., provincial of the Society of Mary in New Zealand, returned to XVellington on Saturday after a visit to South Canterbury. Mr. W. Harris, stock inspector at Stratford, has been appointed the Wanganui office to succeed Mr. W. B. Manning, who has been promoted to the position of chief inspector for the XVellington district. The Rev. 11. Ryan, formerly of Ricearton, was inducted to the charge of the Rangiora Methodist circuit at a service in the church on Wednesday, and was welcomed by the congregation at a social gathering afterward. Mr. Ryan succeeds the Rev. T. Coatsworth, who has left for Woodville. Mr. de Gielgud, a delegate from the International Headquarters of the Red Cross Society. Paris, is to pay an official visit to New Zealand in September. Accompanied by Mrs. T. H. Lowry, Dominion president, he is to tour the Dominion. It is probable that he will address public meetings in eacli town he visits. Mr. L. J. Wild, headmaster of the Feilding Agricultural High School, who will leave by the Aorangi from Auckland to-day for Canada and Great Britain to study education in agriculture ' and art under a Carnegie Trust grant, was entertained at a series of farewells in the Feilding district last week. He was the guest of the Civic Club, and with Mrs. Wild -was entertained at a dinner by the board of managers of the High School. At anol her gathering they were the guests of tlie old pupils of the school. Both Mr. and Mrs. Wild have been the recipients of several farewell gift®.
