WEEK-END WEATHER

Wellington.—The weather in Wellington on Saturday was cool and changeable, with a squally south-south-east wind. Brief showers fell in the evening. The maximum temperature on Saturday was 53.6 deg., and the minimum on Friday night 47deg. Yesterday, although overcast in the morning, the weather became brilliantly lino with a light cool south-east wind prevailing. The maximum temperature yesterday was 55deg. and at 3.30 p.m. 52.8 deg. The minimum on Saturday night -was 45.6 deg. Rainfall at “The Dominion” building for 48 hours ended 11 p.m., o.4in. Total fop the month, 2.72 in.; for the year, lO.Oin. Palmerston North. —Saturday was fine and sunny but with a bitterly cold strong wind which made outside conditions unpleasant. Yesterday was sunny with a light south-east wind. Masterton. —Saturday : Heavily overcast most of the day, with occasional showers; cooler temperature. Sunday: Beautifully sunny and calm. Wanganui.—Saturday: Heavily overeast in morning; bright sunshine in afternoon ; cold south-easterly breeze. Sunday : Brilliant sunshine from cloudless sky; practically no wind. Napier-Hastings.—Saturday was dull cloudy and overcast, with drizzling showers commencing at mid-morning; light southerly breeze; temperatures cold. Auckland.—Almost perfect weather during the week-end, with light and variable winds both on Saturday and yee>terday and clear skies and bright sunshine,' although temperatures were cool. Christchurch. —A cold south-west wind on Saturday with light showers, clearing at night. An exceptionally heavy frost on Sunday was followed by a brilliantly line day with a light easter ly wind. > Dunedin.—On Saturdaj morning the weather was cold, but the sun shone strongly throughout the day, and, except when a slight north-east breeze ■ made its presence felt, conditions were mild. Yesterday was again line and warm, with the sun shining from a cloudless sky. The morning and evening temperatures .were cold.
