INTOLERABLE BURDEN
Suicidal Competition in Naval Construction London, April 16. “As a Minister responsible for one of the navies of the world, I should be lacking In my duty If I did not ask the other naval Powers to think once again of the almost intolerable burden that is being placed on all our shoulders in the absence of building restriction,” declared the First Lord of the Admiralty, Sir Samuel Hoare, at a dinner of naval constructors.
He urged avoidance of unlimited and suicidal competition.
