New Federation Elects Officers The New Zealand Federation of Labour, the new unified organisation of industrial labour, elected its first oflicers at the eonfereni'e on Saturday. They are as follows:—President, Mr. A. MeLtigan (Greymoiifh), secretary of the Mine AA’orkers’ Federation; vicepresident, Mr. R. Eddy (AVaiinate), president of the Now Zealand AA’orkers’ Union; secretary-treasurer. Mr. F. D. Cornwell (AA’ellington), secretary of tlie Trades and Labour Council Federation. Afessrs. F. P. AA'alsh, president of the New Zealand Seamen’s Union, and Mr. E. Canhani, of the Waterside AA’orkers’ Federation, were elected Wellington residential executive members. The conference, which is being held at tlie Trades Hall and which has sat since last Wednesday, is expected to conclude to-day.
