The American Chemical Society has announced the discovery that selenium oxychloride, a straw-coloured liquid, is capable of dissolving almost every substance in the world. Exceptions are glass, platinum, and tungsten. It has a high freezing point. 65deg. Fahrenheit. A bottle of the liquid froze in a laboratory, broke the glass, and then, becoming warm, dripped on to Hie wooden floor and dissolved almost everything with which it came in contact. It is believed that the discovery opens up now industrial possibilities.
