Tramway Accident in Dunedin.-When a city-bound tramear on the Opoho tramline, at Dunedin, left the rails on Thursday morning, it continued on over the footpath, killing a pedestrian, crashing through a fence, and finally coming to rest down a bank. The motorman lost control of thè tramear shortly after leaving the terminus on Signal Hill Road (seen at the right, of the picture). The ear gathered speed on the steep gradient and, unable to negotiate the curve, it left the rails and continued on until it came to rest in the position seen in the picture.
