DAMAGE TO STOCK
City Council’s Grant To Shopkeeper Au ex gratia payment of £lOO to a shopkeeper in Cuba Street for damage to his stock caused by the bursting of a water-main was made by the Wellington City Council on Thursday night. Cr. W. Appleton, chairman of the works committee, said it was estimated that the damage to the stock amounted to £450. The committee thought that the payment of £lOO was a matter of common justice!
