MONDAY’S WRESTLING
Don Mclntyre v. Sammy Stein Concerning Don Mclntyre, who is to make his first appearance at Wellington on Monday night against Sammy Stein, the Jewish champion, a well-known American wrestling publication recently had the following to say: "Donald McIntyre. the flashy spin artist from Kansas City, and Sandor Szabo, the Hungarian gladiator, were seen in the wrestling classic of the month. The pair, meeting in the finals of a single night tournament, in which sixteen wrestlers participated, staged a contest which was a thriller from start to finish. Mclntyre, a former Big Six Missouri Conference tackle, was unfortunate to lose the decision. Szabo, incidentally, held McCready to a draw in the latter’s first match after hiss return from New Zealand last season.” Mclntyre created a particularly fine impression when he made his New Zealand debut at Auckland against “Lofty” Blomfield. and he appeals as the right man to extend the formidable Stein. Stein is regarded as one of the most important of this season's importations. The preliminaries will consist of an amateur Test match between New Zealand and Australia, the first of its kind.
