YOUNG CHILD DROWNED

By Telegraph—l’ress Association. Christchurch, April 1. Colin Leslie James Aitken, aged 2 years 2 months, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. P. Ail ken, Waikuku Beach, was found drowned iu a lagoon at the beach at about noon to-day. At the inquest the coroner. Mr. H. A. Young, returned a verdict that the child had been accident ally drowned. Constable J. P. Simmonds said he had examined the bank of the lagoon and found murks indicating that the child had slipped down a three-foot bank into the water.
