The Pinnacles at Putangarua, on the shores of Palliser Bay, are well known for their curious and unusual formation. Apparently at one time part of the ocean bed raised by volcanic disturbance, wind and rain have had a crumbling effect on the formations, with the results seen in the above pictures.
