Area Created by Earthquake

By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, April 1. The sowing of permanent pastures has been begun on the Ahuriri Lagoon, a 7500-acre area thrown up by the 1931 earthquake. The lagoon was taken over by the Small Farms Board in 1934 for reclamation and development purposes with the object of subdivision and close settlement, since when the scheme has been in the hands of the Public Works Department.
