Man Touches 67,000-volt Line DEATH IN HOSPITAL By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland. April 1. Grave injuries from which he died live hours later were suffered by an employee of lhe Public Works Department, Percy Ballard, aged 30, married, Arapitni, when, while working on the building scheme at the Arapitni hydroelectric works early to-night, lie came in contact with a 67,000-volt high tension line. The accident bad the effect of cutting off tlie supply to Auckland, the King Country and the Waikato for 12 minutes.

After attention from Dr. MaeDiarntid, I’utarnru, Ballard was conveyed to the Waikato Hospital in an ambulance. On his admission his condition was regarded as critical and ho died shortly after 11 p.m. from the effect of extensive bodily burns and shock.
