INVASION OF CANADA

Committee For Industrial Organisation ( Received April 1, 8.30 p.m.) Montreal, March 31. The Committee for Industrial Organisation’s steel industry drive has officially invaded Quebec, where it announces the organisation of the first local branch of the Amalgamated Association of Iron, Steel and Tin Workers of North America, affiliated with the Canadian Trades and Labour Congress.

A provincial sub-section of the 0.1.0. is being planned shortly, and also a further drive in the textile industry. The John L. Lewis group has agreed to restrict its activities to the steel and textile industries on condition that the craft unions do not interfere. It is learned that more than 20 steel local organisations of the 0.1.0. have been formed in Ontario.
