Memorandum by Committee of Investigation
London, March 31. The Population Investigation Committee, in a memorandum, states that assuming that recent trends of fertility and mortality continue, the British population will reach a maximum of 40,655,000 in 1940, after which it will diminish, reaching 4,426,000 in 2035. The committee, which includes Lord Horder and Professor Julian Huxley, proposes to investigate the causes of fluctuation, especially the medical, economic, social and psychological sides.
