Canterbury University College's win in the New Zealand University shield tournament, which concluded to-day, was for the sixth successive year. With only the lawn tenuis events to be completed, Canterbury already had. a useful lead in points for the tournament shield, and it practically scooped the pool in to-day’s tennis. Three of the live titles were won by Canterbury and there is an all-Canterbury final in yet another event. Only in the mixed doubles has another college, Victoria, any chance of scoring points. Two points are allotted for each of the five titles and one for the winner of the tennis cup. With wins in Lite men’s singles aud doubles and women’s doubles, aud a Canterbury final in the women’s singles, the tennis shield in the university tourney goes to Canterbury University College, which has gained four wius out of a possible five. Results are as follows:— Men’s Singles.—Final: I. J. Corich (Canterbury) beat B. D. Duffield (Canterbury), 6-3, 6-3. Men’s Doubles.—Final: B. D. Duffield and T. W. Walls (Canterbury) beat. F. Green and T. Childs (Otago), 6-1. 6-1. Mixed Doubles. —Semi-finals: Miss J. Grainger and N. A. Morrison (Victoria) beat Miss L. Manning and I. J. Corich (Canterbury), 7-5. 6-4; Miss E. Inwood and T. IV. Walls (Canterbury) beat Miss M. Palmer Brown and J. Hartley (Victoria), 6-0, 6-3. Women’s Singles.—Semi-finals: Miss E. Inwood (Canterbury) beat Miss D. Briggs (Victoria), 6-3, 6-2: Miss I. Wright (Canterbury) beat Mass S. Phillips (Victoria), 6-1, 6-2.

Women’s Doubles.—Semi-final: Miss J. Grainger and S. Phillips (Victoria) beat Misses N. Liddel and A. Miller (Otago), 6-0, 6-2. Final: Misses L. Manning and I. Wright (Canterbury) beat Misses J. Grainger anti S. Phillips (Victoria), 6-3, 6-1.
