Apples, new season’s, cookers, -1/- to 7/- a bushel ease; Cox Orange, 6/- to 11/-; Jonathans, 3/- to 5/6; Delicious, 4/- to 7/-. Passion fruit, 6/6 to 10/6 per half case. Beaches, choice dessert, 6/- to 8/9; cookers, 4/- to 5/-. Pears, Winter Coles, 4/6 to 6/6 per three-quarter case; L.8.J., 9/- to 12/-; cookers, 4/- to 6/-. Quinces, 6/6 to 9/a bushel. Nectarines, 5/- to 8/- per half case. Cucumbers, outside, 12/- to 17/- per case.
Lemons, choice, 14/- to 18/- per bushel; others, 8/- to 10/-. Kumeras, 2/- to 0/- per sugar bag. Green peas, 7/- to 17/6 per sack. Tomatoes, local coloured, 1/6 to 2/3 per case; local ripe, 1/6 to Marrows, 1/3 to 3/- per ease. Cape gooseberries, 4/- to 5/- per half case. Grapes, hothouse, 1/- to 2/1 per pound. Beans, 6/- to 16/3 per case. Pic melons, 5/- to S/- per sack. Potatoes, 4/- to 7/- a cwt. Pumpkins, 5/- to 8/a sack. 'Cauliflowers, 1/6 to 3/6 a sack. Lettuce, 2/- to 6/- per case; . Spinach, 3/- to 7/- per case. Swedes. 2/6 to 4/3 per case. Carrots, 4/- to 6/6 per case. Parsnips, 4/- to 5/6 per case. Beetroot, 1/- to 2/- per case. Celery, 6d. to 2/- per biineh. Leeks, 3d. to 6(1. per bunch. Cabbage, 9(1. to 2/pcr case. Onions. Pukekohe, I/- to 4/6 per sugar bag. Rhubarb, 6/- to !)/- per dozen bum lies Eggs. 1/9 Io 1/16 per dozen. Auckland Grain and Produce Dominion Special. Service Auckland, March 30. Potatoes are cheaper owing to supplies coming in heavily from Pukekohe. Manawatu are selling at £B/15/- per ton. and Pukekohe at 3/6 per sugar bag. Little more maize is available in the Bay of Plenty. The price is unaltered at 7/11 per bushel. Bran is still plentiful and dull of sale at £6. The mill price of pollard is quoted at £7 a ton. Barley stocks are very short, and feed clipped are quoted at 6/1 per bus'hel. and undipped at 5/9. The market for chaff is very ' firm at £9/10/- for southern.
Mount. Lyell Production The Mount Lyell Mining and Railway Company, Limited, has issued the following progress report for the fortnight ended March 17: —North Mt. Lyell: Tons extracted. 4792; 1000 ft. level. No. 17 crosscut 69ft. through, mineralised, schist, and completed. Royal Tharsis: 'Pons extracted. SSL West ’.yell: 'l’ons extracted, 20,399. Prince Lyell: Tons extracted, 2710. Lyell Comstock : Tons extracted. 3329. No. 8 level, No. 1 mullock pass rise to 94ft. through ore; north drive to 115 ft. through ore, work then suspended; main crosscut, to 226 ft. through low-grade t.uartzitic ore; No. 9 level, cutting main shaft in progress. Reduction works: Furnace iu blast for full period; 5564 tons refinery anodes made for current year. Concentrator: Mill operated 319 hours and treated 32,721 tons ore, producing 2006 tons concentrates. Copper refinery: Tank house in operation throughout fortnight, 538 tons cathode copper being produced. Total for current year, 6177 tons.
