SECURING PEACE

Labour Party States Its Attitude REFORM OF THE LEAGUE Support for the League of Nations ami emphasis on the principle of collective security, were the main points of a resolution on war and peace adopted unanimously at the annual conference of the New Zealand Labour Party at Wellington yesterday. The text of the resolution was as follows: “That this conference, being deeply impressed with the gravity of the international situation, realising that another world war would probably mean the end of civilisation, and that the race for armaments cannot bring peace and security to the peoples of the world hereby declares its wholehearted support of the Now Zealand Labour Government's recommendations for the reform and strengthening of the League of Nations, and support of the principle of collective security. Tt also records its appreciation of the actions of the Government’s representative at Geneva, Mr. W. .1. Jordan. The conference further pledges itself unceasingly to support the Government in its efforts for world peace, ami to work untiringly for the triumph of the democratic principles for which the party stands.”
