SERVICE FOR EMPIRE
New 8.8. C. Station at Daventry London. March 26. It is not improbable that Australia and New Zealand will hear some of the coronation ceremonies from the new British Broadcasting Corporation Empire station perched 650 feet high on the top of a hill at Daventry. There is an amazing array of masts carrying six miles of aerials solely for the benefit of the Empire. British licences are providing the whole of the outlay. Two 350-foot masts reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower carry alternative reflector aerials which will transmit to Australia and New Zealand across Asia or South America, as conditions require. KING TO DOMINIONS Radio Telephone Message London, March 25. The Duke of Gloucester, in opening a wing completing the world headquarters of the Overseas League on April 14, will deliver by radio telephone a message by the King to the Governors-General of the Dominions and the Viceroy of India, and will receive replies to be conveyed to His Majesty. Such an exchange of greetings is unprecedented. It is expected that it will be beard throughout the Empire through the linking up of post oflice afid radio telephone services enabling broadcasts to be made.
