Church “Procession of Witnesses”
Inaugurated last year, rhe annual “Procession of Witnesses.” conducted by Protestant churches in Wellington city, was hold yesterday, when there was a larger attendance than previously. 'l’iie procession started at St. .Mark’s Anglican Church, near the Basin Reserve, and proceeded along Cambridge Terrace and Courtenay Place to the Taranaki Street Methodist Church. Two halts were made on rhe way, when addresses were given by the Rev. F. H. Robertshawe, vicar of St. .Mark’s Church, and the Rev. W. Gilmour, of the Kent Terrace Presbyterian Church. The united service at the Taranaki Street Methodist Church was presided over by the Rev. Percy Paris, and the Rev. Arthur Muriel gave an address on the text •’The Lamb Slain f-oni f|„. Foundation of the World.” Other ministers taking pari iu tie service wore the lists. .1. Haslam ami L. ,1. Boulton Smith. A retiring collection was taken for the poor.
