Michigan Motor Strikes NEGOTIATIONS TO OPEN By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received .March 26, 6.30 p.m.) London, March 24. A message from Lansing states that the Governor of Michigan, Mr. F. Murphy, has obtained an agreement, with the chairman of the Committee for Industrial Organisation, Mr. John L. Lewis, to order the immediate evacuation of eight of the Chrysler Corporation plants. The Chrysler Corporation will not resume production at the affected plants, and will move its machinery during the collective bargaining which will follow. ROOSEVELT’S INTEREST Sit-down Strike Epidemic (Received March 26, 6.30 p.m.) Warm Springs, March 2-1. President Roosevelt announced that he will hold a series of conferences with Congress leaders on the sit-down strike epidemic when he returns to Washington on Saturday. BANNED IN CANADA Sit-down Strike Weapon Ottawa, Marcli 24. The .Minister of Justice, Mr. E. Lapointe, stated in the House of Commons that sit-down strikes have been forbidden and that the Government will use full powers against their securing a foothold in Canada.
