Many Portfolios Reallocated
MR. FRASER, LEADER
AND FINANCE Labour to Mr. Webb A reallocation of portfolios consequent upon the immediate departure of the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, for London to represent New Zealand at the coronation of King George VI and also at the Imperial Conference, and the later departure, on April 6, of the Minister of Labour, Hon. 11. T. Armstrong, has been approved by Cabinet as follows: — Hon. P. Frasei*, Acting Prime Minister, Acting Minister of Finance and Minister-in-Charge of the Reserve Bank and State Advances. Hon. F. Langstone, Acting Minister of External Affairs, Native Minister and Minister-in-Charge of the Cook Islands and Native Trust. Hon. 11. G. K. Mason, Minister-in-Charge of the Land and Income Tax Department, Stamp Duties. Audit, Legislative and Electoral Departments. Hon. F. Jones, Acting Minister of Broadcasting. Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister-in-Charge of the High Commissioner's Department. Hon. P. C. Webb, Actiug Minister of Labour.
During the absence in Loudon of tlie Prime Minister's chief private secretary, Mr. C. A. Jeffery, C.M.G., his position as Clerk of the Executive Council will be taken over temporarily by Mr. A. E. Mulligan, private secretary to tlie Minister of Lands, Hon. F. Langstone.
