“FIRE OVER ENGLAND”
League of Nations A ward r | 1 HE Wellington branch of United Artists' Film Corporation has been advised by cable that, the committee of the League of Nations lias, by unanimous vote of 52 member nations, given its award to the film "Fire Over England.” The picture was produced by Eric Pommer for Alexander Korda, London Films. Flora Robson, Raymond Massey, Leslie Banks, Lawrence Olivier, Tamara Desni and Vivien Leigh are in the cast. Some of the scenes in "Fire Over England,” notably the Spanish Armada sequences, hit a new standard in spectacle, costume pageantry find vfivtid action. The scenes featuring the desperate sea battle between the Spanish galleon and the English frigate, in which thousands of extras participated, were filmed at night, and are exceedingly effective.
jpAUL HOEFFLER, famous producer of “Africa Speaks,” has completed the first all-talking film of India, entitled "Voice of India.”
