For ten years before lie died last Xovember al the age of 69. Mr. Fred Qxveu Chorlcy. retired grocer, of Hamilton Road. Reading, used to wait for one special tramcar whenever he had to go into the town. Ou that, tram was conductor A. J. Ravensliill.
For years Mr. Chorlcy observed HavcnsliiU’s kindness and courtesy toward his passengers. Me was always ready to help passengers on to the tram. Before he allowed passengers io alight, he saw that, tlie road was clear. Mr. Chorlcy was impressed, lie and Mr. Ravensliill became friendly. Recently Mr. Chorloy’s £13.125 will was made public. lie left 1250 to the conductor.
Mr. E. .1. Winter. Mr. Chorlcy’s solicitor, saiil to a "Bunday Express” representative, “When he drew up his will four years ago Mr. Chorlcy remarked to me about. RavenshiH’s kindliness. He wanted the bequest Io be a little token of appreciation.”
