This wa.s Hie view expressed by a man who bus had more than 2300 songs published. lie is -Mr. Edward Locktou, who wrote "Because." which sold over a million copies, "Where My Caravan Has Bested.” and “Until.” "If a. song sells 50,000 copies nowadays,” said Mr. Loekton, “it is an enormous' success. In Hie old days you could sell 700.000. People don't sing to-day."
