A well-worn elephant’s tooth, about 3in. across and l|iii. deep, was the source of considerable interest when it was exhibited by the curator. Colonel E. R. Sawer, at the Auckland Zoological Society’s field day at the Auckland Zoo. Colonel Sawer explained that Jumuna, tbe female elephant at the zoo, had pulled out the tooth from her mouth that morning.
