DRAPERS’ ASSOCIATION
President Entertained
The Wellington Drapers and Boot Retailers’ Association entertained the president, Mr. 11. 0. Pittendrigh, at tea recently, and wished him "bon voyage” on the business trip to Canada and England on which he is starting next week. Mr. AV. Simru presided over a representative attendance of the association committee. Afer eulogistic reference to the success which h:id~ attended Mr. Pittendrigh’s presidency, the chairman presented him with a silver cigarette ease as a token of members’"esteem. Messrs. T. Forsyth, D. S. Patrick, H. Smith. L. Evan.-, and .1. C. Carter also spoke in terms of high appreciation of Mr. Pittendrigh’s work for the retailers of Wellington, and Mr. E. R Norman —a co-director with Mr. Pittendrigh of R. H. Hannah and Co., Ltd. ■—associated himself with the expressions of goodwill. Mr. Pittendrigh will leave Auckland on April 3. and hopes during his absence to secure much useful information for his association on the working of important retailers’ organisations in Canada, England, and Australia.
